This is a database of the confirmed and proposed impact sites and related deposits on the Earth. It aspires to support impact research and to educate public on the subject of impact cratering by:

• summarizing key geologic data with a meaningful precision and accuracy.

• maintaining information about data sources and quality, incl. literature references, methods used to measure the data, clarification of conflicting information from various sources etc.

• assessing the probability of impact origin of the proposed impact structures and deposits by reviewing published information and conducting basic remote sensing investigations.

• providing graphic presentation of the data via Google Earth and compilation maps, and by providing links to trusted educational resources.

• providing research opportunities for geoscience students.
